Scott Yoo, Music Director and violin
Scott began his public career performing with the Boston Symphony at age 12. He went on to win the First Prize in the Josef Gingold International Violin competition and received an Avery Fisher Career Grant. As a chamber musician, Scott has appeared with the Boston Chamber Music Society and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and is a regular performer with the Seattle Chamber Music Festival, among others. As a guest conductor, he has led the Colorado, Dallas, Indianapolis, Kansas City, New World, San Francisco and Utah Symphonies as well as the English Chamber Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

Caroline Campbell, violin
Caroline is the Concertmaster of the Santa Barbara Symphony and has appeared as soloist with the Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Indianapolis Symphony, among others. She has performed as soloist at Carnegie Hall, at the Kennedy Center and internationally with her quartet Sonus. |

Anne-Marie Gabriele, oboe
Anne Marie performs across the world as a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, has performed at the Kennedy Center Honors and has recorded for New World Records.

Noam Elkies, piano
Noam began playing the piano and composing at the age of three. His solo performances include performance with the Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra, the Harvard Bach Society and the Festival Mozaic Orchestra, where he performed his own composition, Brandenburg Concerto No. 7, in 2008. Noam is currently a professor of mathematics at Harvard and is the youngest person ever tenured at the University. Noam is renowned for his knowledge of the connections between mathematics and music.

Erik Rynearson, viola
Erik is a native Californian and dual citizen of France. Erik was a fellow of the New World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson-Thomas and currently performs in the Los Angles area. |

Paul Severtson, violin
Paul is Co-Concertmaster of the San Luis Obispo Symphony Orchestra and a founding member of the Tolosa Strings Chamber Ensemble. He has been performing with the Festival since 1993. |

Andrew Smith, cello
Andrew is an Associate Professor of music at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he performs regularly in the southwest as a member of The Cerberus Trio. He is an original member of the Camerata Deiá, the resident ensemble with The Festival Internacional de Deiá.

Jason Uyeyama, violin
Jason has performed in recitals throughout the U.S. and Canada and recently made his recital debut in Japan. He is the Director of String Studies at La Sierra University and performs regularly with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Edwin Kaplan, viola
Since directing his focus entirely to viola playing, Edwin Kaplan has already forged a versatile identity as a soloist, chamber musician, and as a committed and dynamic orchestral player. In 2008 Mr. Kaplan performed as soloist in Bach’s 6th Brandenburg Concerto at the La Jolla Music Society alongside his mentor, renowned violist Richard O’Neill. As an orchestra musician he has performed under the batons of James Levine, Kurt Massur, and Herbert Blomstedt among others.

Susie Yang, cello
Susie made her solo debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at age 11, and was a Principal Cellist of the New World Symphony under music director Michael Tilson-Thomas. She has since established herself as an active soloist, orchestral and chamber musician throughout the United States.
