Tim Fain
Tim Fain, Concertmaster
Tim Fain was selected as one of Symphony magazine’s “Up-and-Coming
Young Musicians of 2006” and recently won the Avery Fisher Career Grant and a Young Concert Artists International Award. He has performed with the New York Chamber Symphony, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Baltimore Symphony and Brooklyn Philharmonic. As a chamber musician, Tim Fain has performed at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Bargemusic, Chamber Music Northwest and the Ravinia, Spoleto, Bridgehampton, Santa Fe, Caramoor, Bard, Lucerne, Vail Valley, Moab, and Martha’s Vineyard Festivals. He has toured nationally with musicians from Marlboro and is first violinist of the Rossetti String Quartet. A native of Santa Monica, Tim Fain is a graduate of the Curtis Institute, where he studied with Victor Danchenko, and Juilliard, where he worked with Robert Mann.
Caroline Campbell
Caroline Campbell
Caroline Campbell is the Concertmaster of the Santa Barbara Symphony. She has appeared as soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Indianapolis Symphony and the Cleveland Orchestra. She has won national and international violin competitions, and has performed throughout the US and Europe. Selected as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts, she was honored at a White House ceremony and performed at the Kennedy Center. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with a BS in Symbolic Systems and an MA in Sociology.
Nina Fan

Nina Fan
Nina Fan is a member of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, a post she has held since 1997. She earned her BA in French literature from Harvard while studying violin at the New England Conservatory. She won the 2002 McKnight Artist Fellowship for Performing Musicians. She is an active chamber musician in the Twin Cities and participated in the Aspen, Sarasota, Grand Teton and Mainly Mozart Festivals.

Joseph Hintz
Joseph Hintz
Joseph Hintz is a freelance musician in Southern California, where he performs regularly with the San Diego Symphony. He was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. His festival appearances have included the Pacific Music Festival in Japan, the National Repertory Orchestra in Colorado and the Bowdoin Music Festival in Maine. He is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory and the University of Michigan.
Mayumi Masri

Mayumi Masri
Mayumi Masri is the Assistant Concertmaster of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. She has performed at numerous chamber music and orchestral festivals, including the Sun Valley Summer Symphony, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Encore School for Strings, and the National Repertory Orchestra. Mayumi attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music, where she received a bachelor of music, and was a fellow at the New World Symphony.

Ellen Pendleton Troyer
Ellen Pendleton-Troyer
Ellen Pendleton-Troyer is a member of the the first violin section of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, a post she has held since 1991. She has participated in numerous music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival and the Tanglewood Music Center, where she was awarded the Gustav Golden Achievement Award. At the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in
Germany, she was chosen by Leonard Bernstein for two consecutive seasons as Concertmaster for the orchestra’s European/Russian tours. She has also appeared as a concerto soloist with the Florida Symphony, the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and the National Repertory Orchestra.
Jason Uyeyama
Jason Uyeyama
Jason Uyeyama is associate professor of music and director of string studies at La Sierra University, where he teaches violin, viola and chamber music. He has appeared in the Aspen, Taos and Tanglewood festivals, and performs regularly with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In 2008, he became music director of Community Kids Connection, a mentoring program offering free music lessons to low income children in San Bernardino, CA. Jason received his master’s degree from the Juilliard School.
Jisun Yang

Jisun Yang
Jisun Yang is the Assistant Concertmaster of the San Diego Symphony, and was formerly a member of the Saint Louis Symphony. Upcoming performances include Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in San Diego and performances with Orli Shaham. Jisun is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Oberlin College Conservatory. In 1999 she was a recipient of a Nicolò Gagliano violin from the Stradivari Society.

Paul Severtson

Paul Severtson, Principal
Paul Severtson is Co-Concertmaster of the San Luis Obispo Symphony Orchestra and a founding member of the Tolosa Strings Chamber Ensemble. A native Californian and a graduate of Yale College and the Yale School of Music, Paul has performed in numerous symphony, opera, ballet and chamber orchestras. He also plays with popular, rock ‘n roll and jazz groups, contemporary music ensembles and as a folk musician with special interest in the Norwegian hardanger fiddle. Paul is the development director at Public Radio KCBX FM-90.

Clinton Dewing
Clinton Dewing
Clinton Dewing is a member of the Jacksonville Symphony. He received a bachelor of music degree from the Juilliard School as a student of Joel Smirnoff. He has performed at the Aspen, Tanglewood, Sarasota, Spoleto USA, Spoleto Italy, and Pacific Music Festivals, and with the National Repertory Orchestra and the National Orchestral Institute. Currently, Clinton is an active soloist, chamber and orchestral musician.
Aurelia Duca
Aurelia Duca
Aurica Duca is a member of the first violin section of the Jacksonville Symphony. She won first prize in the Cornelia Bronzetti violin competition and the International Violin Competition of Brasov, and was the grand prize winner at the Paul Constantinescu International Competition in Romania. She was awarded the Mayor’s Scholarship of Chisinau, Moldova and the prestigious scholarship from the Foundation of Beneficence. Aurelia has performed in solo engagements with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, the National Philharmonic of Chisinau and the National Youth Orchestra in Holland and studied at the A. Casella Conservatory in l’Aquilla, Italy.
Searmi Park
Searmi Park
Searmi Park is a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and also regularly performs with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Opera Orchestra and Pacific Symphony. She served as first violinist of the Alma String Quartet, which won a prize in the Coleman Chamber Music Competition. Her festival credits include Yellow Barn and Taos. She studied at UCLA with Mark Kaplan, receiving her bachelor of arts and master of music degrees.
Diana Pepelea

Diana Pepelea
started playing the violin at the age of 5 under the guidance of her father. By the age of 15, Diana was a regular prize winner of national and international music competitions. She graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy with a Fine Arts Award in violin performance and went on to study at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She is pursuing her Master’s degree at Carnegie Mellon University.
Eva Werner
Eva Werner
Eva Werner graduated from the Toho Academy in Tokyo and became the youngest member of the Tokyo Symphony, Tokyo Baroque and various recording orchestras. Eva came to the US as a member of the North Carolina Symphony and the New Orleans Philharmonic. She has performed as a member of the resident string quartet at the Monteux Festival, and the Santa Fe and New Orleans Operas. Eva is currently an active freelance musician.
Anthony Wong
Anthony Wong
Anthony Wong began studying violin at the age of eight. Upon receiving the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund scholarship, Wong continued his studies in the US where he received his bachelor’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, a master’s degree and doctoral studies from Rutgers University. He was the former Assistant Principal Violin for the Tulsa Philharmonic Orchestra and was a member of Hong Kong Sinfonietta. He has performed throughout Europe, Asia and at Carnegie Hall.
