Theresa Dimond

Theresa Dimond, Principal
Theresa Dimond is the Principal Percussionist of the Los Angeles Opera and Los Angeles Master Chorale, Associate Principal Percussion of the Pasadena Symphony and Principal Timpanist of the Pasadena Pops and the California Philharmonic. She has worked with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Pacific Symphony and Long Beach Symphony. Dr. Dimond currently is on the faculties of Pomona College, UC Irvine and Cerritos College.

Ross Sears

Ross T. Sears, Principal
Ross Sears received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University School of Music, and his graduate degree from San Jose State University. Ross has performed as both timpanist and percussionist with the San Diego Symphony, San Diego Opera, Symphony Orchestra of Maracaibo, Venezuela, San Jose Symphony, Opera San Jose, West Bay Opera, Santa Cruz County Symphony, and Monterey Symphony. Locally, he performs with the Santa Barbara Symphony, Santa Barbara Chamber Music Festival, PCPA Theatrefest and Chameleon Productions.

John Astaire John Astaire
John Astaire earned his doctor of music in percussion performance at Indiana University. Originally from California, his primary teachers have included Gerald Carlyss and Kenneth Watson, under whom he also studied the Hungarian cimbalom. John has been a guest with several musical ensembles across the United States, as well as a performer at the Cimbalom World Association’s 2003 World Congress, held at Appenzell, Switzerland.
Alan Peck Alan Peck
Alan Peck plays timpani and percussion in the Riverside County Philharmonic, West Los Angeles Symphony, Opera Santa Barbara, Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, Santa Barbara Symphony, Santa Monica Symphony and the Burbank Philharmonic, among others. He also works as a show drummer with Reprise Theatre Company, Cabrillo Music Theatre, Musical Theatre Guild, International City Theatre and others.
Mark Zimoski
Mark Zimoski
Mark Zimoski is timpanist for the New West Symphony and the Santa Barbara Symphony. He plays frequently as an extra/substitute with the Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He can be heard on many motion picture soundtracks as timpanist, percussionist and electronic percussion/synthesist.

Marcia Dickstein
Marcia Dickstein
Marcia Dickstein is the founder and artistic director of the Debussy Trio, with whom she records and performs worldwide. The Debussy Trio just released a new CD on the Klavier label. The Trio has performed as soloist with the Louisville and Glendale Symphony Orchestras, the South Bay Chamber Orchestra, and the Northwest Sinfonietta. She also performs with the Long Beach Symphony and the San Luis Obispo Symphony and is adjunct professor of harp at Cal State University Long Beach and teaches applied harp at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Laura Porter
Laura Porter
Laura Porter has held the position of Principal Harp with the Fresno Philharmonic for 21 years. She has appeared in solo and chamber music recitals in the Central Valley and throughout California. She maintains a full schedule of private studio teaching in Fresno, Bakersfield, Oroville/Grass Valley and is on the faculty at Fresno Pacific University as harp instructor.

David Arrivee David Arrivée
David Arrivée is the Director of the Cal Poly Symphony and an Assistant Professor in the Cal Poly Music Department. He has served as Assistant Conductor of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras as well as a guest conductor with the Princeton University Orchestra. During his time in Chicago, he also taught music theory at Northwestern University. He has participated as a conducting fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center, as a pianist in the Schumann Duos Program at the Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Study in England, and as a conductor at the International Workshop for Conductors in the Czech Republic. David received a Bachelor’s Degree from Princeton University, a Master’s Degree in Orchestral Conducting from Boston University and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Northwestern University.
