Geraldine Rotella, Principal
Geraldine Rotella plays Piccolo and Associate Principal Flute for the Pasadena Symphony and Principal Flute with the Los Angeles Master Chorale. She is also guest principal with the Pacific, Long Beach and Hollywood Bowl Orchestras. She has performed on over 600 motion picture soundtracks including this year’s Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Spiderman 3, Hairspray and The Simpsons Movie. She has recorded with Paul McCartney, Barbra Streisand, Celene Dion, Andrea Bocelli and Frank Sinatra.

Lisa Edelstein
Lisa Edelstein performs with the Pasadena Symphony, Long Beach Symphony and Los Angeles Master Chorale, as well as with many chamber music ensembles. She studied at Cal State Northridge, and her teachers include Jean-Pierre Rampal and James Galway. Lisa is currently a Hudson Fellow at the California Institute of Technology, where she teaches chamber music.

Kirsten Larsen Joel
Kirsten Larsen Joel began her flute studies with Martha Uhey of the San Luis Obispo Symphony Orchestra. After graduation from Interlochen Arts Academy, earning her Bachelor’s of Music in flute performance from Eastman School of Music, and receiving her Master’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Kirsten played for nine seasons with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, she toured nationally and internationally with the award-winning Meliora Winds. The quintet was invited to perform three summers with the Mozart Festival and were Artists in Residence with National Public Radio’s “Performance Today.” Residing in Pasadena with her husband and two children, she performs with various orchestras in Southern California.

Anne-Marie Gabriele, Principal
Anne-Marie Gabriele is a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. She previously served as second oboist of the Columbus and Honolulu Symphonies. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from Juilliard, has performed at the Kennedy Center Honors to William Schuman and recorded several 20th-century works for New World Records. Anne has participated in numerous music festivals, including the Aspen, Kent/Blossom and Waterloo Festivals, as well as the National Orchestra Institute and the Breckenridge Music Festival.

Emily Brebach
Emily Brebach plays oboe and English horn in the Sarasota Opera and the Des Moines Metro Opera. Emily has performed with the Houston Symphony, the Florida West Coast Symphony, and the New World Symphony. She has appeared in solo and chamber music recitals in Merkin Hall (New York) and Reinberger Hall (Cleveland), and as a part of the conservatory project at Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She has spent summers at the Spoleto Festival USA, Tanglewood Music Center, the International Festival-Institute at Round Top, and the Aspen Music Festival and School. She received her undergraduate degree from Oberlin Conservatory with James Caldwell and her master’s degree from Rice University with Houston Symphony Principal Oboist Robert Atherholt. Emily resides in Houston, where she freelances and maintains a private studio.

Victoria Sabonjohn
Victoria Sabonjohn has dedicated her life to the performance and teaching of music for over 10 years. Her two passions are performing oboe in an orchestral setting and teaching both privately and in the classroom. Sabonjohn graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stetson University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, studying oboe with Dr. Ann Adams. She immediately pursued a Masters Degree in Oboe Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, under the instruction of Laura Ahlbeck. Upon her completion of graduate studies, Sabonjohn relocated to Los Angeles, CA with her husband. As a professional oboist, Victoria Sabonjohn performs actively in the community, playing with several local orchestras and chamber groups.
