the idiom, and the courage
to improvise...they play
with energy, splendid
ensemble, good humor
and imagination."

Ensemble Galilei

Ensemble Galilei is a grouop of five women with classical and folk music training, all of whom have more than a passing acquaintance with higher education and musical excellence. Although they are classically trained, most of them participate in the folk music world as well. Ensemble Galilei blends medieval, classical and folk pieces to create peaceful and stately works. They are technically precise but do not let that overwhelm the emotional qualities of the various pieces. The Ensemble performs Irish, Scottish, Early and Original music.

masters of their instruments.
Their dynamics, ensemble feel
