Robert Franenberg



Robert has been a member of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra since 1984. In 1986 he took a part time position there to enable him to concentrate in performance on period instruments. He is also a member of the Orchestra of the 18th Century and the double bassist/violone player with the Netherlands Bach Society. He has toured with the Bach Collegium Japan, Gabrieli Consort, Netherlands Wind Ensemble, The English Concert and Dunedin Consort. A California native, he received a Bachelor of Music degree from the California State University, Northridge, and pursued additional studies at the Sweelinck Converatorium in Amsterdam.
