Friday, May 22nd - Saturday, May 23rd, depart USA for Prague

   Depart USA, overnight flight to Prague (please recall, airfare is not included in this brochure’s pricing)

Saturday, 5/23- Arrive at Václav Havel Airport in Prague. English speaking Tour Manager will greet us and conduct a brief panoramic tour of Iconic Prague. Perhaps a little shopping before transferring to our four-star Hotel. Welcome dinner at hotel.

 

Sunday, May 24th ~ Walking tour of Prague ~ Vltava River Boat tour ~ Mozart Concert

   AM- Walking tours of the Old + New Town + Castle district + a visit to Dvorak's villa. Lunch on our own.

   PM- Vltava River boat tour (get your river legs!) Some free time. Early dinner at the hotel. Mozart concert in the evening.

 

Monday, May 25th ~ Depart Prague ~ Surprise Lunch ~ Board Amadeus Silver II in Passau, Germany

   After a leisurely breakfast, depart Prague for Passau. Scenic ride to surprise lunch spot and then on to Passau.  

 

Tuesday, May 26th ~ Regensburg ~ Weltenburg Abbey ~ Bavarian Evening on Board

   AM- Tour of Regensburg- the Stone Bridge (c.1146), Schloss Thurn und Taxis (One of the world’s largest inhabited buildings)

   PM- Own lunch. Weltenburg Abbey, oldest monastery in Bavaria.  Back onboard- Evening of Bavarian cuisine and festivities.

 

Wednesday, May 27th ~ Full day in Salzburg ~ Mozart House ~ Private Concert #1 in the Mozarteum

   The first of our four completely Exclusive Excursions. An all day excursion to Mozart’s city of birth, Saltzburg. There we will visit Mozart House, have an awesome lunch and be treated to an exclusive, private concert in the Mozarteum. Afterwards, transfer to the Upper Austrian State Capital, Linz to enjoy a walking tour. Linz boasts of its own Mozarthaus (where Mozart composed his “Linz Symphony” in just three days!), the Bruckner Organ and, of course, the famous Linzer Torte, which we will sample!

 

Thursday, May 28th ~ Wachau Valley ~ Melk Abbey ~ Private Concert #2 ~ Weissenkirchen

   Exclusive Excursion #2 begins at the Melk Abbey with a Private Concert in the famous Hall of St. Koloman. Afterwards, make our way to Weissenkirchen for some long overdue wine tasting! ☺

 

Friday, May 29th ~ Vienna ~ Schönbrunn Palace ~ Salonorchester Alt Wein (aka “Mega Concert”)

   AM- Walking tour of Vienna, to include Hofburg Imperial Palace, Kohl (not Kohl’s! ☺) Market, St. Stephen’s Cathedral

   PM- Guided tour of Schönbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will only visit 1,396 of the 1,441 rooms and halls (just seeing if you are paying attention!). After dinner, attend the “Salonorchester Alt Wien”, one of the best-known interpreters of classical Viennese music. An evening full of Viennese charm, with the lilting sound of waltzes, polkas, arias and duets, as well as operetta and piano concert melodies. Accompanied by excellent opera singers and enchanting ballet soloists, Vienna’s classical music reveals itself as a living fireworks display for the senses (how ‘bout THAT description?!?)

 

Saturday, May 30th ~ Bratislava ~ Private Concert #3 ~ Schloss Hof Palace ~ Captain’s Gala Dinner

   AM- having departed Vienna the night before, we arrive in Bratislava in time for breakfast. There we enjoy a panoramic bus tour, a walking tour, and our third Private Concert.  

   PM- Guided tour of the Imperial Schloss Hof Palace, truly one of the most magnificent Baroque palaces in Europe, complete with its own exotic zoo .. no, really! White donkeys, pygmy goats, white peacocks, Bactrian Camels .. just to name a few! This evening, we will enjoy the Captain’s Gala Dinner .. full of surprises. And after dinner, we set sail for Hungary.

 

Sunday, May 31st ~ Esztergom ~ Szentendre ~ Budapest (a city we’ve heard of! ) ~ Private Concert #4

   AM: Esztergom, the former residence of the Hungarian kings and seat of the Archbishop, boasts the largest cathedral in Hungary. We will visit it before continuing to Szentendre. This charming town has been the home of many generations of Hungarian artists since the early 20th century. There are many museums and contemporary galleries representing the rich traditions of the visual arts. One of the most visited museums of the whole country, the Margit Kovács Museum, is also located here.

   PM- Arrive in Budapest for our 4th Private Concert, a piano concert in the Duna Palace. Afterwards, a city tour of Budapest, the “Queen of the Danube.” The Danube divides the city into two parts: Buda and Pest. We will tour both sides. Evening cruise of Budapest’s illuminated skyline, accompanied by a folklore show of music and dance.

 

Monday, June 1st ~ Disembarkation after breakfast ~ Return to USA    ​
