The 2014 Summer Festival begins with an exploration of chamber music over the ages, ranging from classic Haydn, the “father” of the string quartet and Dohnányi’s lilting trio to the large ensembles of Spohr’s intensely rich double quartet and Brahms’ stately serenade for wind ensemble, all in the historical setting of Mission San Miguel Arcángel. $30-$65
