2017 Chamber Series: Winds of Change
This program explored the evolution of chamber music for wind instruments. We began with a selection from Telemann’s Tafelmusik, a collection of chamber works for varying ensembles that was the composer’s most ambitious publication during his lifetime. The horn took a leading role in Mozart's delightful Horn Quintet, and the clarinet followed suit in Brahms' Clarinet Quintet. For a contemporary perspective, the program finished with John Harbison's 1979 Quintet for Winds. The musicians then enjoyed an after party at Oki Momo! Photos by Katy Barnard.
